12 & 60 Second Vertical

The 12 & 60 Second Vertical test measures the burn length and after-flame time of materials when exposed to an open flame for 12 or 60 seconds to show compliance with the requirements of 14 CFR §§ 25.853, 29.853, 25.855, & 29.855.

Materials that require 12 & 60 Second Vertical Testing:

  • Textiles

  • Carpeting

  • Foams

  • Polymer Materials (Panels, partitions, transparencies, etc.)
